Doing keyword optimization for your website is critical. By optimizing your content, you score higher rankings within Google. That ensures more (organic) visitors and therefore a higher turnover / profit. To achieve this, we advise you to follow our tips carefully.

What exactly do we mean by keyword optimization? This is optimizing the content on your website, so that the content becomes a lot more valuable. You have several options to optimize the content, about which you will find all the information in this article.

Seo

For every website or webshop owner, the term SEO is incredibly important. This term stands for Search Engine Optimization, or optimizing your website.

Within the world of SEO there are three pillars:

  • Link building: if you want to give more value to your website, you should get started with link building. This is obtaining links on other websites that refer to your website. If these are relevant and valuable links, this will (considerably) benefit the ranking of your website.
  • Technique: the technique of your website must be perfectly in order. The website must be fast, the website must be built with clean code and the website must be completely up to date. Within WordPress, for example, you do this by regularly updating all plugins.
  • Content: Finally, content plays a crucial role. The content on your website should be perfect for both your visitors and Google. You achieve this by, among other things, seriously working with keyword optimization.

Would you like to grow with your website? Then you should focus on these three pillars. You can’t just work with link building or just content. Or well, it is possible, but you will not achieve the desired results.

Keyword optimization

Do you want to attract more visitors to your website? You have several options for that. In any case, the most sustainable way is to focus on SEO. The better you optimize your website, the more organic visitors you attract.

To optimize your website, you need to get started with keyword optimization. This is a process in which you research relevant keywords and then write the right content. In this content, the right keywords must be processed in the right way. How can you do this? We have listed some valuable tips for you.

Perform a comprehensive keyword analysis

Before you can write the best content, you need to research relevant keywords. Which keywords are important for your website/webshop? And what is the search volume for these keywords? With, for example, the Google Keyword Tool you can quickly find out.

Our advice is not to focus solely on this tool. Our advice is to also look at the search intentions of your visitors. What is the reason that potential visitors look for certain information? And what problem did they encounter at that moment? Those are two questions you can use to find out the search intent of your potential visitors.

Use short tail and long tail keywords

There are two types of keywords: short tail and long tail keywords. We would like to explain this with an example.

Suppose you have a webshop in which you sell floor tiles. In that case, a short tail keyword is ‘floor tiles’. This is a keyword that is searched for an unprecedented amount, but on which you do have to deal with considerable competition. After all, even the largest providers of floor tiles focus on this keyword. Because they have a lot more budget, you’re not going to win their battle on this keyword.

It is therefore better to focus your arrows on the long tail keywords. For example, an example of a long tail keyword is ‘rectangular black floor tiles’. This is a keyword that is searched for less often, but with which you can still attract the necessary visitors.

Beware of keyword stuffing

Are you going to write content for your website? Then focus your arrows on the keywords, beware of keyword stuffing. This is a term that indicates that you use the relevant keywords too often in your text.

How often can you use the relevant keywords in your text? We often keep a percentage of 2 to 2.5%. Are you writing a text of 1000 words? Then you can use the keyword in question about 20 to 25 times. Do you use the keyword about 50 times in this case? Then there is keyword stuffing.

The percentage of 2 to 2.5% is not a fixed fact. This also depends on the length of the written texts. We advise you in terms of length the following:

  • Vary with the length of the texts. You can choose to post some sample items on your website. These are texts of, for example, 3000 words.
  • Keep the texts short and sweet in certain areas. This is the case on the homepage of your website, with product descriptions and with relevant information for the visitor. Most internet users are in a hurry, so they prefer not to read pieces of text.

Keep the content unique and valuable

Regardless of what kind of content you’re going to write, you need to incorporate the keywords into the content in the right way. You do this, among other things, by always providing 100% unique and valuable content.

Are you planning to copy content from your competitors? Don’t do this. This is really mercilessly punished by Google.

When writing content, you should always follow the following principles:

  • Unique content: All content you place on your website must be 100% unique. There are useful tools with which you can check / check this.
  • Valuable content: the content must always be valuable – valuable for your visitors, but also for Google. Google’s algorithm must immediately realize that the content on your website has the necessary to offer.
  • Informative and convincing: all content that you place on your website must be convincing as well as information. You want to give your visitors the desired information, but of course you also want to promote your own products /services.

Focus on the long term

Do you want to get started with keyword optimization? Then be sure to focus on the long term. This is simply an ongoing and long process that you are going to step into.

  • Step 1: Perform a keyword analysis. You can use tools for this, but you can also empathize with your target group.
  • Step 2: Write perfect content. You can do this yourself, but you can also outsource this to a specialist. If you don’t have gold writing fingers, that’s wiser.
  • Step 3: Place and optimize the content. Then place the content on your website, where you also have to immediately put the On Page SEO in order. Then it is important to continue to optimize this content. Not only now and next week, but also in the coming months.

Conclusion

Keyword optimization is incredibly important for every website. Would you therefore like to get started with this form of optimization? With the above tips you make this possible for yourself.
